Night State: Shedding

Night State: Shedding explores processes of material transformation through a large-scale, mixed media work that moves between painting and sculpture. Developed through performative actions and layered material processes, the work engages with organic and synthetic substances held in states of accumulation, compression and decay.

Working with reduced visibility as a condition rather than a setting, the project examines how perception destabilises as forms dissolve, shifting attention from recognition toward proximity, contact and material presence. The works stage encounters in which the boundaries between body, material and environment become unstable.
